Just moments ago we were
celebrating new laws we
thought would put us us on
equal ground, but beneath my
feet it’s crumbling.
We hold our breaths every time we
take a single step
because we know that you will
push us
down at the first chance
you get. You hold our
hearts in one hand and with the
other give
assault rifles to the ones
spewing hatred when all
we wanted to do was
You took our hearts hoping that the
will fade, hoping we would return to
the shadows but we are far too
to hide behind your
coats and shoes.
We will stand together.
Fight together.
Bruised hearts beating together.

PULSE together.
